CPC Fund V Announces Swett & Crawford Refinancing
Carson Private Capital Fund V, LP announced the refinancing of Swett & Crawford, in a transaction that returned over 75% of the investment in the business to the equity partners, with no dilution of ownership. Swett & Crawford is one of twelve portfolio business in Carson Private Capital Fund V.
Swett & Crawford's strong financial performance and rapid de-leveraging since acquisition by HM Capital Partners (formerly Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst) from Aon Corp. in November 2005 enabled the Company to initiate the refinancing, which enhances financial flexibility, reduces the interest rate, and provides liquidity to pursue strategic acquisitions.
Swett & Crawford is the largest wholesale brokerage insurance firm in the U.S., acting as an intermediary between retail insurance agents/brokers and surplus lines/specialty insurance carriers that specialize in providing insurance with highly customized policies for unique and hard-to-place risks.
